There’s a kind of luxury that doesn’t need to be loud – and The Palm Beaches have known that all along.

Stretching from the quiet sands of Jupiter to the polished streets of Boca Raton, this coastal pocket of South Florida has long attracted travelers with a taste for the good life, but without the chaos! This isn’t the Florida of kitschy theme parks or wild spring break scenes. This is the Florida of sweeping Atlantic views, historic hotels, curated boutiques, and fresh-caught seafood served under striped awnings.

If you’re a luxury traveler chasing warmth in the winter, a couple planning a refined weekend escape, or a wellness-seeker looking to reset by the sea, The Palm Beaches move at a slow rhythm without ever feeling sleepy. Food lovers will find a surprisingly robust culinary scene here, where happy hour oysters and cold rosé come with garden views or marina backdrops.

And if you’re someone craving meaningful connection alongside indulgence, you’ll want to keep reading. I’m hosting a luxurious women’s retreat here on Palm Beach in April 2026 that blends mindful relaxation with coastal sophistication… but more on that later!

Why Visit The Palm Beaches?

Let’s start with the obvious: the sunshine! The Palm Beaches boast more than 230 days of it a year, which means you can swap sweaters for linen almost anytime you like. But it’s not just the weather that draws you in. There’s a gentleness to life here, a kind of quiet elegance that’s increasingly hard to find.

Palm trees along the waterfront framing a dramatic view of the West Palm Beach skyline at sunset across the Intracoastal Waterway.

This is where Old Florida glamour lives on, just with better cocktails and upgraded spa menus! You’ll still find grand pink hotels and vintage convertibles cruising along A1A, but you’ll also discover sleek new restaurants, curated wellness retreats, and boutiques that feel like they belong in Paris or Capri.

Compared to Miami, it’s refreshingly uncrowded. That said, full disclosure: “season” can be quite chaotic with traffic and crowds enjoying the warm sunny skies in Florida. It runs from November to April, with December-March being peak for snowbirds and anyone taking a break from the snow.

But what’s nice about the Palm Beaches is you can walk along the beach and actually hear the waves. Dinner reservations are easier to get, valet doesn’t feel like a contact sport, and locals still make eye contact when they pass you on the street.

Add in a thriving food scene, art museums, and independent shops that make even a quick weekend feel like a stylish escape – and you’ve got a destination that rewards both spontaneity and slow living.

Where to Stay in The Palm Beaches

Choosing where to stay in The Palm Beaches is half the fun: do you want historic glamour by the sea or a rooftop pool with a view? Here’s where to check in and unwind, celebrate, or just escape for a few days.

Palm Beach

The Breakers Palm Beach

This is the grande dame of Palm Beach: iconic, oceanfront, and effortlessly regal. The property is massive, but never overwhelming, with stunning Gilded Age details and endless ways to unwind. Whether you’re sipping cocktails under striped umbrellas or strolling past the fountains at dusk, it all feels cinematic.

The Breakers truly shines during the holidays with all their stunning decor! Even if you’re not staying on the property, it’s worth a visit! Definitely look for the fish at the Seafood Bar. 😉

Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

Eau feels like a luxury wellness retreat that snuck onto the beach. It’s playful but elevated, with garden paths, champagne at check-in, and a spa that’s practically a destination on its own. If you’ve followed my journey, you know I splurge on a spa day every birthday – and Eau is my favorite! If you’re craving a more intimate wellness-leaning escape, this is where you go to unwind in style.

Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach

Soft, serene, and consistently elegant, the Four Seasons offers five-star service without the fuss. Every detail is thoughtful, from the saltwater pool to the seasonal menus at Florie’s. The views of the pool and beach are off the charts luxury!  Even if you plan to do nothing, you’ll still end up doing it all!

Bonus: The Colony Hotel & White Elephant Palm Beach

The Colony is vintage Palm Beach with a wink: flamingo-pink, vintage glam, and full of Palm Beach personality, with a buzzy pool scene and live music on the regular. It’s what one would call “a vibe”! White Elephant, just up the road, is more minimalist and modern, with oversized suites, a garden pool, and a quiet kind of luxury that flies under the radar. Both are chic, central, and walkable to everything you’ll want to explore.

West Palm Beach

The Ben, Autograph Collection

Trendy, waterfront, and just the right amount of funky, The Ben has become the go-to for visitors who want local flavor with their skyline views. Its rooftop bar is a West Palm staple for sunset drinks, and the design feels fresh without being overdone. You’re also perfectly placed to explore The Square, Clematis Street and all the action of downtown West Palm Beach.

Delray Beach

The Seagate Hotel, Golf & Beach Club

A polished classic with real staying power, The Seagate gives you access to a private beach club, a golf course, and a spa – plus Atlantic Avenue just steps away! It feels like a low-key resort wrapped in boutique clothing, with everything you need right at your fingertips. Delray regulars come back here again and again, and it’s easy to see why.

The Ray Hotel

This one is for the style-conscious traveler who likes their hotels with a little edge. The design is bold and tropical, with art-filled spaces and a rooftop pool that feels like a party waiting to happen. You’re right in the heart of Pineapple Grove, so exploring is as easy as stepping outside.

Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort & Spa

Opal Grand toes the line between breezy beach escape and elevated coastal resort. Rooms are fresh and coastal, the spa is solid, and the lobby always smells amazing! You’re steps from the sand, but close enough to walk to everything on Atlantic Ave, perfect for that car-free beach weekend.

Jupiter

Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa

This is one of those under-the-radar gems that locals whisper about but don’t want to share. It’s beachfront, peaceful, and refreshingly unpretentious, with great spa treatments and a crowd that’s more flip-flops than flash. If you’re craving quiet mornings, sea turtle sightings, and long walks on near-empty sand, this is the one for you.

Wyndham Grand Jupiter

Set along the Intracoastal, this hotel puts you in the heart of Harbourside with shops, restaurants, and marina views. This downtown destination has a great vibe with two of my personal favorites: Calaveras Cantina for Taco Tuesday and Tommy Bahama Restaurant for food and shopping! Rooms are clean and contemporary, and there’s live music floating on most weekends. It’s not flashy, but it nails the basics with style and makes a great home base for exploring Jupiter.

Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences

This one is for the wellness lover who doesn’t want to compromise on luxury. Tucked along the sand on Singer Island, Amrit feels like a full-body exhale: sleek, serene, and seriously spa-forward. The vibe is more barefoot robe than high heels, thanks to its world-class spa offering everything from sound baths to hydrothermal rituals. Rooms are spacious and modern, many with ocean views and private balconies.

Boca Raton

The Boca Raton

Spanning 200 acres of waterfront, The Boca is less a hotel and more a universe of its own. Whether you’re staying in the historic Cloister or the sleek new Tower, every corner feels intentional and luxurious. With a private beach club, multiple pools, and a world-class spa, it’s a destination in every sense of the word.

Just Inland

PGA National Resort

Want a spa day, a golf retreat, or both? PGA National is a mecca for golfers, of course, but recent renovations have added a full suite of wellness offerings, from a state-of-the-art spa to cold plunge rituals and yoga studios. One of my favorite spas in the area because it’s so chill and unpretentious. If you’re craving a wellness weekend away from the coast, but still close enough to dip your toes in the ocean, this is your sweet spot.

Best Things To Do in The Palm Beaches

There’s no need to over-plan here, but a few local favorites are worth working into your day between beach time, lunch dates, and doing absolutely nothing.

Palm Beach

Start your day with a slow stroll down Worth Avenue, where the breeze smells faintly of flowers and the shops sparkle just a little brighter. It’s not just about designer labels here (though you’ll find plenty!) but more about the atmosphere: arched passageways, tucked-away galleries, and courtyards where you’ll lose track of time (and maybe your budget). Be sure to stroll down the alleys, not just the main street!

Just a few blocks inland, step into another era at the Flagler Museum. Built in 1902 by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler, this Gilded Age mansion feels like something out of a European fairytale: crystal chandeliers, marble staircases, and rooms that make you want to whisper, even when you’re alone.

Need a nature moment? The Four Arts Gardens is a tucked-away gem just off the Intracoastal. Stroll past fountains, tropical plantings, and winding walkways. It’s quiet, intimate, and usually blissfully uncrowded.

And of course, the beach! Palm Beach’s coastline is exactly what it should be: wide, breezy, and elegant without trying too hard. The coast offers calm luxury and a little salt‑air reset when you’re after a sunrise stroll or a quiet afternoon swim.

West Palm Beach

Now, the energy shifts across the bridge in West Palm. The area once known as CityPlace – then Rosemary Square, then “The Square” – has circled back to CityPlace (I think). Whatever name it’s going by, the vibe remains the same: part open-air mall, part social hub, part Instagram backdrop. You can grab a smoothie, shop a few boutiques, and then linger over dinner on a patio while string lights glow overhead.

A few of my go-to spots: Maman for brunch (it’s as pretty as it is delicious!) then grab a slice at Adrienne’s Pizzabar for lunch or something quick between shops. City Cellar is perfect for happy hour or a laid-back dinner and Sloane’s is non-negotiable if you’ve got a sweet tooth. Their ice cream is a whole event! Oh, and Eataly just opened in December 2025. Yes, that Eataly! So add it to your must-try list before the lines catch on.

For a green escape, Mounts Botanical Garden is just ten minutes from downtown but feels like a world away. With over 7,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants, butterfly gardens, and winding trails, it’s the county’s oldest and largest public garden, but never feels overrun.

A few blocks north, Northwood Village brings a more creative yet slightly gritty charm. With murals, indie shops, and tiny galleries tucked into colorful buildings, it feels scrappy but soulful, and a little bit off the radar in all the right ways.  Think cool coffee shops, off the beaten path spots for the arty type of vibe!

Keep wandering and you’ll likely stumble onto NORA (North Railroad Avenue), West Palm’s newest creative district-in-the-making. It has that cool-before-it’s-finished energy, with design studios, wine bars, converted warehouses, and plenty of personality.

When you need a hit of air-conditioning and inspiration, head to the Norton Museum of Art. It’s bright and modern, with a permanent collection that mixes American, Chinese, and European works alongside rotating exhibitions that lean surprisingly bold. A perfect cultural reset between cocktails and dinner.

Delray Beach

Delray has that just-right blend of beach town charm and grown-up fun. The sand here is soft, the vibe is low-key, and you’re always a short walk from a really good lunch. I absolutely love the shops on the “Ave”! Atlantic Avenue is the main strip, but it doesn’t feel like a tourist trap – just a string of boutiques, cafes, and cocktail bars with their doors flung open. Again, during “season” it can be a bit crazy so bring your patience.  😉

If you’re feeling adventurous, Delray makes it easy to get on the water. Paddle through the mangroves, take a catamaran cruise, snorkel near the reef, or go on a fun scavenger hunt on the beach. You can book something casual the same day and still be back in time for happy hour.

Jupiter

Jupiter always feels a bit quieter than its southern neighbors. The beaches here are wide, wild, and mostly free of crowds. Early mornings are best: bring a cup of coffee, walk the shoreline, and let the sun do its thing while the locals and sea turtles go about their business.

Speaking of turtles, Loggerhead Marinelife Center in nearby Juno Beach is a heartwarming and totally fascinating stop. It’s a working sea turtle hospital and research hub where you can meet recovering turtles, explore exhibits, or even time your visit with a public release. Plus, it’s right next to a beautiful stretch of sand you’ll want to revisit!

Don’t miss the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse! This 1860s icon gives you panoramic views from the top. Yes, you’ll have to climb, but the view at the top is worth every single step! From there, you can see exactly why people fall in love with this part of the coast.  From the top of the lighthouse or a boat ride, it’s a very cool adventure when visiting Jupiter.

Boca Raton

In Boca, it’s all about blending sophistication with a little bit of leisure. Mizner Park is the place to browse, sip, and people-watch in style with upscale boutiques, art galleries, and shaded patios.

It’s also a great city to wander without a plan. You’ll stumble on shaded courtyards, locally owned boutiques, and just maybe, your new favorite jewelry shop or wine bar! If you want to hit the beach, go early for a more peaceful experience before the sunbathers roll in.

If you’re looking to play a few holes, drive west to Osprey Point Golf Course, one of the best public courses in the state. The greens are pristine, the layout is smart, and the whole place is surrounded by nature. It’s Audubon-certified, by the way! The perfect alternative to the big private clubs without sacrificing quality.

Restaurants, Coffee Shops & Happy Hour Spots

The food scene here leans upscale, but unpretentious, with a growing list of spots that know exactly how to strike that sweet spot between local charm and big city polish.

Restaurants

Estiatorio Milos

Milos brings refined Greek dining to The Square, making it a top pick for special occasions, romantic dinners, or an elegant night out. I actually went here for my birthday and it couldn’t have been a better call: crispy white linen, marble accents, and warm lighting that sets the mood. The star here is the ultra-fresh seafood, flown in daily and displayed market-style for you to choose. Go for the grilled Mediterranean fish or the zucchini tower (aka the Milos Special)!

Honor Bar

Tucked under Palm Beach Grill, this cozy little spot offers upscale bar food in an intimate and moody setting. The cheeseburger has a fan base and the spinach artichoke dip might actually change your life! It’s low-key luxury at its finest. My personal favorite is the Tuna Tartare! DELISH!

Palm Beach Grill

Simple, classic, and always consistent – Palm Beach Grill gets everything right, from the cocktails to the crab cakes. It’s not trendy, but this is where you go when you want no surprises and excellent service.

Sant Ambroeus

With its marble tabletops, tuxedoed servers, and low hum of Italian being spoken across the room, Sant Ambroeus feels like a scene out of Milan – just with more sunlight! The pastas are always a safe bet, but the gelato and espresso are where the magic happens. Come for the food, stay for the people-watching.

Swifty’s at The Colony

This is Palm Beach’s see-and-be-seen lunch scene wrapped in a palm-print tablecloth. The menu leans classic (lobster rolls, steak frites, and an impeccable cocktail list) and the setting around the pool is pure vintage glam. If you can swing a reservation on a live music night, even better!

City Cellar

City Cellar is that rare combo of polished and approachable. The wine list is deep without being intimidating, the vibe is always lively, and the food hits every time. Elevated pizzas (the prosciutto and arugula one is a must!), steak frites, and a killer cheese board if you’re just grazing with a glass of something. It works for date night, happy hour, or an easy dinner that still feels special.

Lola 41

Lola 41 brings a playful, global spin to the White Elephant’s refined atmosphere. The menu stretches from sushi to burgers, and somehow nails both. It’s casual enough for a weeknight but chic enough to dress up for.

Buccan

This is one of those places where everything tastes like the chef’s favorite dish. Small plates steal the show: crispy oysters, pork tacos, and handmade pastas. Plus, the bar scene buzzes with locals and visitors alike. Buccan is the rare spot that feels both high-end and high-energy without tipping into pretentious.

Grato

A West Palm sister to Buccan, Grato is all about warm lighting, big booths, and comfort food done right. The rigatoni alla vodka is a hit, though the wood-fired pizzas don’t play second fiddle. Trust me, you’ll want to linger here long after the plates are cleared.

Table 26

Located just off Dixie Highway in West Palm, Table 26 serves up New American cuisine in a warm and nautical-chic setting. The service is personal, the wine list is thoughtful, and the vibe somehow manages to feel both special and familiar. It’s a go-to for a reason. Definitely one of my favorites!

Coffee Shops & Daytime Favorites

Hive Bakery & Cafe

Bright, stylish, and always buzzing, Hive feels more like a lifestyle than a coffee shop. The pastries are on point (get the lemon scone!) and the cafe opens right into a boutique that’s dangerously good.

Common Grounds

One of my personal staples, this coffee shop is cozy, modern, and consistent in the best way. And with three Palm Beach County locations, it’s never far when the caffeine calls! Great espresso, sunny service, and a vibe that makes you want to bring a book or stay for another round. It’s everything a neighborhood cafe should be.

Maman

Straight out of SoHo by way of The Square, Maman is all soft florals, vintage cups, and lavender lattes. It’s as pretty as it is delicious, great for a slow morning or a mid-afternoon treat. The outdoor seating is a bonus when the weather is behaving.

Happy Hour & Waterfront Spots

Square Grouper

A true Jupiter institution, Square Grouper is all about live music, tiki drinks, and sunsets. Grab a seat on the dock and watch the boats drift by with something frozen in hand. It’s casual, but it hits just right. Do dinner at Guanabanas, then wander down Love Street for a nightcap here. 😉

Guanabanas

This open-air, island-style restaurant is tucked under a canopy of palms and banyans, and it feels like a little escape. The menu is seafood-heavy and perfect for sharing, and the laid-back vibe makes it perfect for lingering. You’ll fit right in whether you’re coming from the beach or dressing up for dinner.

Restoration Hardware Rooftop

This might be the only furniture store where you’ll want to stay for dinner! The rooftop at RH West Palm is unexpectedly chic: glass chandeliers, open skies, and a seasonal menu that’s surprisingly strong. Come for golden hour and stay for the burrata.

Proper Grit

Inside The Ben, Proper Grit is a rich mix of dark wood, leather booths, and a cocktail list that leans bourbon-heavy. It’s a great spot for happy hour or a late-night bite with atmosphere. The oysters don’t disappoint and neither does the people-watching.

Why The Palm Beaches Stay With You

Ultimately, The Palm Beaches offer a certain kind of travel magic! It’s a place where you can switch off the noise, find yourself on a nearly empty stretch of sand, and then dress up for an impeccable dinner just an hour later.

It’s the feeling of walking Worth Avenue on a perfect 75-degree day, the unexpected joy of spotting a sea turtle, or the quiet moment you have with a perfect espresso at a neighborhood cafe.

This is a destination that understands the art of slow living without sacrificing style or sophistication. It doesn’t demand your attention with fireworks or loud attractions. Instead, it invites you to simply be – to unwind, indulge in beautiful food, and recharge by the Atlantic.

Whether you come for a sun-drenched wellness retreat or just a quick escape from the everyday, The Palm Beaches won’t just offer you a vacation – they’ll offer you a reset. Come find your own piece of quiet elegance here.
